The Streamwood Chamber of Commerce spotlight shines on My Cocina Mexican Grill this month as our newest business member. My Cocina Mexican Grill is the first business enterprise for Jeff Murray.
"I have been in the restaurant industry since I was in grade school. A good family friend gave me the responsibility of a restaurant manager when I was 16 years old. I am extremely grateful to have learned so much at a young age."
Graduating college with an I.T. and business administration degree, Jeff initially planned to go into web design but he always found his way back to the hospitality industry.
"I purchased My Cocina Mexican Grill in early March. We are now making everything from scratch. The homemade tortillas make a huge difference to a taco experience. All of the meat is cooked slow with recipes that go back generations. We introduced an iconic Mexican sandwich called a 'Cemita'. Our Churros are handmade and absolutely the best you will ever have."
My Cocina Mexican Grill has a newly remodeled interior and plan to offer catering services in the future.
"My goal in business is to have as much positive effect on as many people as possible. I am diving into the community seeking opportunities to both help others and provide the best Mexican food anyone has ever tasted. I truly believe our success will result from helping others succeed."
The plan is to have this be the first of many locations.
