An award-winning park district formed in 1966, the Streamwood Park District offers parks, recreation facilities and programs that improve the quality of life for people of all ages. The park district now owns and maintains over 225 acres of land at 34 different sites. Facilities at the park include playground apparatus at parks, ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer and football fields.

The Park district also operates the recently built Park Place Family Recreation Center which houses an indoor leisure and lap pool, a fully equipped fitness center, senior and teen drop-in centers, and aerobic studio, a gymnasium with two collegiate-size courts, an elevated running tract, and an indoor children's activity center. Other facilities include a Community Center, Hoosier Grove Banquet Barn, Aquarius Pool and Hoosier Grove Schoolhouse Museum. The district provides more than 400 recreational programs each year including trips and special events for all ages.
