What Are Networking Opportunities?
Networking is the "Life Blood" of a Chamber of Commerce. Numerous studies show that some of the best returns on your sales investments happen in the "one-on-one" encounters. Membership in a Chamber also introduces you to key community members and gets your name "known" quickly. Chamber members are encouraged to promote and utilize the businesses of fellow Chamber members.
While there are many more regularly scheduled events and happenings, this is just a sampling of what is in store for you. Watch for these events several times a year.
Many other opportunities await you, but that is not all! The fun events that we sponsor and participate in could also do well for your business. The list is quite comprehensive and includes:
Business Before & Business After Hours
Join us for our Business After Hours (BAH) or Business Before Hours (BBH). This is where the real business of casual networking takes place. Meet new contacts, re-establish old relationships or get the word out about your business, product and service. These events are usually about two hours in length and provide the host an opportunity to showcase their business. Light appetizers are usually served.Several Multi-Chamber events are held each year which increases your access to more potential customers.
We are currently scheduling Business Before Hours (BBH) & Business After Hours (BAH)dates for 2013.
Call the office to reserve your date and showcase your business!
Progressive Luncheons
Progressive Luncheons, hosted by multiple area chambers, are a great way to quickly exchange business information and get leads...oh, and lunch, too!
Participants are assigned a table for each course. The assignments are arranged so there is a mix of business types at each table. You have the opportunity to give a quick "elevator speech" and pass around your business cards. The table captain will then ask the "Table Question" and opens the table for discussion during the meal course. After the first course, you are assigned another table, and the process begins again. The third course (dessert) gives you yet another opportunity to get new leads, meet new people and promote your business to many people just over the course of a lunch! How great is that??
Enjoy the day with friends and clients.
Make new contacts, get some exercise, win prizes!
Impress your guests with this great annual event. Not too big- it's held at the Championship 9 hole course at Streamwood Oaks.
Watch the Calendar for date information.
Want more exposure for your company? Be a hole or tee sponsor (or both).
Or have the outing named after your company. We do the work--you get the credit.
The strength of a Chamber of Commerce is directly related to the willingness of members to serve on committees to promote, design and execute the various events a Chamber hosts to promote the business of its members.
Serving on a committe is a great way to get to know people, also. Most committees meet only once a month. It's a fun way to "give back" while also receiving the benefit of exposure for your own business!
Chamber Auction and Scholarship Recognition Awards
Scholarships are awarded to area students who excel in academics, volunteer opportunities and community involvement. The auction raises funds for the operations of the Streamwood Chamber of Commerce and for future scholarships. Donors of auction items and scholarship funds are recognized in the evening's program and on our website. This is a very fun event and is usually scheduled for late April or early May at a local banquet facility.
